About two months ago I started an experiment in my fish tank. The tank is holds 30 gallons and is unfiltered. My goal was to create an stable environment, as in able to sustain without the tasks of added to or taking away. First, I'd like to state that yes, it would be rather hard to create an isolated environment and that is not what I was going for. So I placed two types of plants and 20 minnows, dropped frozen blood worms in every day for two weeks, stopped for a week and then for the next week only dropped in the worms three times. Since then only one plant remains with a stable count of 6 minnows. I haven't fed them in 8 weeks and the water is still mostly clear.
